Thank you. I was experimenting with the colours and highlights. And I love his art. I remember you leant me Abarat and I quite liked his work, so I guess I'm pleased with that. After this morning, I don't think it's going to be as bad. So that's good. Good luck to you, too <3 If you want to talk to me about it I'm here (...wow, what a cliché thing to say, sorry, but I do mean it).
Time for another of my over-critical evaluations of your amazing work... brace yourselves.
Firstly, the title fits really well with this picture, as "purging" both ties in with pursuing or coming after someone/thing; whilst in this case it also means to purge, as in to vomit (I assume)- which relates to the idea of an eating disorder. The skin colouring with the use of red and green also makes it really obvious the person in the picture is unwell and/or suffering; which is also seen with the general thinness of the figure. The fact that the waist narrows significantly towards the bottom of the page also suggests to me that the person feels as if they're almost dissapearing completely or being crushed by the disorder. The jagged spikes protruding from their skin also reminds me of being in pain or discomfort because of the eating disorder- or that the thoughts surrounding it are too much to hold in their head and end up actually bursting out of their skull.
Sorry, I always type way too much when it comes to your art. :') But seriosuly, I love this and the meaning behind it. <3 (If you're worried about Wednesday and need someone to talk to- drop me a message on facebook or note me on here, if you want to that is.) <3
Yay for thoughtfulness! You don't have to apologise for long comments. It's strange how the colours have turned out green really- I actually painted it with a mixture of yellow, orange, and black. But oh well, some people seem to like it and fits well then! Seriously, you must be amazing at history, English, art, etc. where you analyse different pieces of work. You depict every detail and it's always very accurate. Thank you. <3 (That's very kind. I might send a message your way after tomorrow morning after I've been for a check up at the doctor's.)
